Washington Financial Bank’s challenge was to provide FDIC insurance to their commercial customers once the Transaction Account Guarantee Program ended. As their commercial customer deposit balances increased, so did their need for FDIC protection. Liquidity, however, also remained key to their customers’ ability to quickly adapt to the changing business climate and take advantage of opportunities as they arose.
